PADI Open Water Diver Course

Course Itinerary

Day 1

9:30 AM

On the first day of the Open Water diver course when we actually get into the water we enter into the confined water in the Sea at 9:30 AM where we complete the first confined water session. This part of the training is always carried out at our great house reef at Kontiki marina. Its the perfect place to carry out diver training. There is a nice flat part perfect for skills training and a beautiful part full of corals and fish for the Open water dives.

9:30 AM
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM

After the first confined water skills session we take you on your first Open water dive to a maximum depth of 12M and this is always a memorable event.

10:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Lunch Break

Then we have lunch at either the Oxygen restaurant on site at Kontiki marina or some guests prefer to eat at a locals carendaria where you can purchase lunch for as little as php50-100 ($1-$2).

Lunch Break
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

After lunch we all go back into the confined water to finish confined sessions 2-5, learning the rest of the skills.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Then we will complete Open Water Dive 2 before exiting the water and heading back to the dive shop to rinse our gear, listen to the debriefing and then get a shower before getting dressed and heading back to your hotel.

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Day 2

The following day we normally start at 9:30AM and complete the remaining two Open water dives: Open Water Dive 3 and Open Water Dive 4.

On this day we sometimes, but not always, take a boat trip usually lasting from about 9:30AM-2PM.

Some days we stay out longer on the boat and do an additional third dive.

During this day we complete the remaining two Open water dives in the Ocean from the boat. The boat cost is divided equally between all the participants on the boat. With 6 persons on the boat expect an additional payment of php900 + php300 Sanctuary fees per person. This is the only additional charge and is optional. Often there is also a BBQ provided on the boat for only Php350 0r Php500 each.

Cancellation Policy:

Once you have paid the 105 British Pounds deposit for the elearning and to book the course this is not refundable once the elearning has been bought for you and assigned to you. We need to use your 105 pounds deposit to buy the learning and it is not refundable. For this reason we are unable to refund your deposit if you cancel for any reason.

The course price pays for in water training with a PADI Instructor for two days. In the unlikely event that a student requires remedial training to complete the requirements of the course we  only charge php2000 per day for additional training. In exceptional circumstances it may not be possible for a student to be able to pass all the requirements of the Open water diver course. If the student has managed to pass all the requirments of the PADI Scuba diver course we will certify the student as a PADI Scuba diver instead of as a PADI Open water scuba diver.

If a student does not have time to come back for remedial training we will issue the student with a referral form which is an itemisation of everything that the student has mastered during the course and everything that still needs to be mastered. The student can then take this referral form to any PADI dive centre when the student is ready to finish his or her course. The student will need to pay the new dive centre their fee for this.

In exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to refuse to train anyone who in our opinion is a danger to themselves or to our dive staff.

If a student is not passed by our instructor or instructors there is no refund of the course price. The course fee is the same whether a student passes or fails. The instructor is, after all still spending the same time to teach someone who passes aswell as someone who fails. In fact, the students who fail always take far more of an instructors time than someone who passes. For this reason a student who fails to reach the course requirements will not receive a refund. That student is welcome to enrole on a remedial class at php2000 per day. It is highly unlikely that this happens. However, we need to cover ourselves for exceptional circumstances.

99% of our customers who enrole on our courses will pass within the two days of in water training.

However every now and again someone will find that Scuba diving is not for them. Not everyone can be turned into a Scuba diver.
